OOGA BOOGAS / DUCK JUGGLER / JENSEN TJHUNG / CINNAMON DYNAMO / DJ JOHN DOUGLAS / BBQ BAR & MORE

Hell Gallery will soon be heading to London to participate in NO SOUL FOR SALE at the Tate Modern - a festival of independent galleries from around the world. To pay for their private jet and snack tab, Hell will be hosting a fund-raising send-off on the 23rd of April. For one night only the gallery, side room, Hell Toupee and garden courtyard will be turned over to a selection of some of Melbourne’s most interesting and disparate musical agitators.

DUCK JUGGLER - will be creating an interactive installation of light, sound and ducks within the gallery. THE OOGA BOOGAS - Melbourne’s much-loved Garage band will play a rare show in the side room. JENSEN TJHUNG (DEAFWISH) - performing solo in (or on) Hell Toupee. CINNAMON DYNAMO - a roving duo of cat, mouse, theremin and effect pedals.

HELL'S BOTTOM DRAWER

Hell’s Bottom Drawer / Selected by Jess Johnson, Susan Jacobs, Katherine Hattam / Opening Friday 19 February 6pm til late / Films, Tunes & BBQ / Special one-night-only screening of KISS by COBRA (JPN) / 20th February - 13th March, 2010

Angela Brennan / Aaron Carter / Jon Cattapan / Jad Fair (USA) / Philip Flynn (JAPAN) / Adrienne Gaha / Andy Gritscher / Brent Harris / Katie Lee / Richard Long (UK) / Will Mackinnon / Rob McHaffie / Rowan McNaught / Jordy O’Connor / Daniel Price / Hell Toupee: Benjamin Teuben

Hell Gallery launches into 2010 with a drawing show that throws a wide net over the Mark Makers of the Universe. Hell's Bottom Drawer presents a selection of artists that mixes generations and conventions. From well known artworld figures to those completely independent from the artworld. Throw in a seventy-year age spread and drawing is shown as an equaliser; a unifying human compulsion in all its forms: functional, scrappy, immediate, meticulous, precious or throwaway.

Hell will also be welcoming their intern, Benjamin Teuben, from Gippsland Centre for Art & Design. Ben will be exhibiting his drawings in Hell Toupee in conjunction with Hell’s Bottom Drawer.
